If you’ve been having problems with your ac drain line clogging and you are considering purchasing a bottle of Brodys AC Drain cleaner, first there are a few things you should know:
- This product is not as chemically safe as it may appear (there are a lot more warning labels on the actual bottle than what is advertised on the website)
- There have been reviewers who have used this product once a month and still had clogs
- There have been reviewers who unsuccessfully used this product to try to clear an existing clog
- It’s not cheap
Before spending your money on this product, there are many other less expensive liquid based methods for treating and unclogging your ac drain line. A quick DIY Google search will return everything from bleach, to vinegar, and peroxide. Heck, even Drano is less expensive than this product and probably equally safe.
Bottom line, if you’re set on pouring a product into your line, you might consider bleach. Bleach is very effective at keeping an ac drain line clear and at low price point. Just keep a jug next to your unit and pour a little into your drain line periodically or when you change out your filter.
